With Open Eyes

We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open. – Jawaharlal Nehru

So, this blog was inspired by a Facebook memory of my first international trip, much introspection, several mini dialogues and a recent conversation with my pastor.

It’s been almost 20 years since my first international trip – where the travel bug bit me and never let go. I have journeyed to 5 out of the 7 continents, visiting places in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, and North America, and am planning a trip to South America at the end of the month. I’ve seen the Great Pyramid, Sphinx, Pyramids at Giza, cruised down the Nile, celebrated a New Year in both Barcelona and Sydney, walked the Great Wall of China, climbed the Leaning Tower of Pisa, been serenaded on a gondola in Venice, watched the sunset over the Grand Canyon, photographed Aurora Borealis in Reykjavik, and am currently planning my next adventure.

I’ve finally decided to document my adventures – my electronic travel journal if you will, spanning my first international trip in the year 2000 and beyond. That being said, most of these initial posts will go back to give a little more depth on the places I’ve been and then hopefully I’ll keep updating with the more current places I go.

So, here’s to the the adventures I’ve had with open eyes…
